San Antonio Tutoring

Alamo Music Center offers lessons for a variety of instruments at both of our San Antonio locations. Customized learning plans are developed based on each individual's needs, weaknesses, strengths, background, level of confidence, and interests, and students get to study rhythm, music theory, ear training, and other musicianship skills via computer tutorials as well.
The group is known for being fun, engaging, and thorough in its instruction to all ages and levels and provides an important foundation Piano Lessons for piano playing as well as knowledge of music composition, appreciation, history, ear training, theory, and technique.

The instructor is a Board Member of the San Antonio Music Teachers Association, has taught in a variety of environments including preschools and at the San Antonio Music Academy, and today counts neighborhood children to players for the San Antonio Spurs as students.
The Sofi Lopez Jazz Quartet has had their track, "Black Orpheus" (written by Luis Bonfa), played on the San Antonio Jazz radio station, KRTU 91.7. In Fall of 2014, the quartet was featured on KRTU's show, "The South Texas Jazz Project." This included a live studio performance and a brief interview.

Izzy has also worked with students with autism, visually impaired children, and children with learning disabilities. I teach at the McKinney Piano & Voice Academy and at the McKinney Performing Arts Center. During her Masters, she wrote a paper examining adaptive approaches to teaching students with dyslexia.
San Antonio Piano tutors using Wyzant are professional subject experts who set their own price based on their demand and skill. All of our music programs are designed to inspire students to learn and develop a strong musical proficiency. Children can develop their motor-skills, dexterity, and coordination through technical piano playing such as learning scales, chords, and correct fingering.

Sofi is currently the vocalist, guitar player and arranger of her own group but also has been called to play guitar or sing for groups like Midtown Jazz Sound, Hillcountry Jazz Bigband and The Powerhouse Big Band. At School of Rock San Antonio, our music program for children with no previous musical experience (typically ages 5 to 7-years-old) is called Rookies.
We pair weekly private bass lessons with weekly band rehearsals to inspire and engage students throughout the learning process. Both teacher and student work together to design a program to fit your pace, background, and interests. Took Piano lessons from Raymond A.
